Now on his third career wave, Steve is the founder of PerryProjects, a project solutions provider for non-profit organizations, businesses large & small, small groups & teams, and individuals in transition.
His work focuses on a wide variety of organizational effectiveness initiatives including vision & strategy, leadership & management, problem solving & decision-making, goal setting & outcome measurement, performance management, collaborative culture building, and executive coaching.
Steve’s first wave was highlighted by the pursuit of B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in the social & behavioral sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Appalachian State University and the University of Virginia, respectively. He recently completed his M.S. in Counseling at Johns Hopkins University.
His second wave comprised thirteen years at the Food Marketing Institute, a leading international trade association representing the retail and wholesale supermarket industry, where, as vice president of education, he was collaboratively responsible for the continuing education of the more than 3 million associates across all functional areas and levels of management within the $420 billion food industry.
For seven years he served as executive vice president of the Food Processing Suppliers Association whose members include food processing equipment manufacturers, packaging equipment manufacturers and suppliers, and ingredient suppliers to processors, manufacturers and consumer package goods companies in the broad-based food, dairy, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.
He also founded The Connectivity Center, a food industry resource for organizational effectiveness and association services, where, as co-founder, he developed programs and services for associations and food companies featuring vision and planning, change management, leadership development, educational program development, and lifelong learning for professional peer groups in the food industry.
During this period Steve was responsible for bringing buyers and sellers together throughout the food industry supply chain in a variety of venues including, but not limited to, large industry trade shows, annual top-to-top executive conferences, CEO peer group meetings, table top exhibit shows for operations executives, international trade missions, standards development meetings for technical managers, and a host of meeting opportunities for owners of small-to-mid-sized, family-owned businesses.
For fun, Steve runs (16 marathons, but mostly 10K’s now), bikes (three AIDS Rides including the San Francisco to Los Angeles ride), and golfs (81 is the earliest he can shoot his age).
Steve resides in Annapolis, MD with his wife, Mindi
